International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR)

ICUR is an innovative undergraduate conference. In this global 24-hour event, selected students present their research to hundreds of other students, academics, and the public. The conference takes place simultaneously at universities across the globe. Linked by video conference, students present their research via either a 15-minute talk or a poster.

ICUR provides undergraduate students with a range of valuable academic experiences, including:

  • attending an academic conference
  • writing a conference abstract, creating a poster, presenting research and networking
  • writing a paper for the Monash Warwick Alliance undergraduate research publication, Reinvention
  • a limited number of scholarships to visit a partner institution and present at the conference
  • cash prizes for the best presentations.

It's an opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase their research in a formal yet supportive academic environment. Students also participate in workshops about academic publishing, networking and interview skills, and attend industry meet-and-greet sessions.

ICUR was established by the Monash Warwick Alliance with the inaugural conference held on 10 May 2013.

All students are invited to join the workshops, including those from disciplines that may not typically conduct undergraduate research.
